Biography:

Travis’s practice focuses primarily on civil litigation, with experience in the areas of business and commercial cases, product liability cases, and construction defect cases. His goal is to find the most efficient and economically advantageous solution to a client’s problems. Sometimes this may mean resolving disputes through settlement and mediation. Other times, a dispute may require a more aggressive approach, up to and including a trial. Travis’s work in the court room has been recognized in Wisconsin. In 2009 he and co-counsel achieved the only jury verdict in a products liability case reported by the Wisconsin Law Journal in its annual article on Significant Defense Victories. He is admitted to practice before the courts of Wisconsin, the Federal District Courts for the Eastern and Western District of Wisconsin, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit,  the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and the Veterans Administration.

In addition to practicing law, Travis also teaches trial advocacy and coaches mock trial teams as an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin Law School. In 2009, Travis co-coached the UW Law School’s first team to ever win its regional tournament and advance to the nationals in the prestigious TYLA National Trial Competition.

Travis graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1998 with degrees in Political Science and History. Following college he served as a member of the Wisconsin State Senate Sergeant at Arms staff and as U.S. Senator Feingold’s staff representative responsible for casework related to education, federal law enforcement, and the Peace Corps. Travis later served in U.S. Army special operations as a member of 3rd Ranger Battalion, where he deployed in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Hope. He was awarded multiple Army Commendation Medals, the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and the Ranger Tab. He is a member of the U.S. Army Ranger Association, the 75th Ranger Regiment Association, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Disabled American Veterans.
