David has represented individuals and businesses in a variety of disciplines since 1978. His practice concentrates in the three areas which affect most individual and family-owned businesses: estate planning and probate, real estate transactions and business law. He has prepared estate plans involving a wide variety of sophisticated techniques and he is well versed in federal estate tax law and the Wisconsin marital property law. David has also represented fiduciaries in administering estates and trusts. David has represented clients in many different real estate matters including purchases, sales, land divisions, developments and rezonings. David has represented clients in forming business entities and in dealing with the many issues faced by clients in conducting a business. He has been lead counsel for many clients in acquisitions and sales of large businesses.
A cum laude graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, David earned his law degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee in 1977, where he was Managing Editor of the Marquette Law Review. He served as a clerk to Justice Leo B. Hanley of the Wisconsin Supreme Court for a year prior to entering private practice in 1978. David is the author of legal articles appearing in various publications and is a speaker for legal education programs. He has been involved in many civic organizations.
